There are multiple, complex barriers for increasing the clinical use of anti-CGRPs for migraine. Some barriers are more general, and not specific to anti-CGRPs for migraine. As Professor Messoud Ashina notes: “We have to remember not to give up and say that the patients are 'refractory.' Refractory in my opinion is a kind of stigma.” Dr Pozo-Rosich concludes “We have to…provide the numbers…to demonstrate that these drugs are cost-effective”.
